Lightweight robot grip for hot stamping

Misati’s high-temperature robot grip is used to move 1,000°C metal sheets from the furnace to the die

The solution to stamp sheets at 1,000°C

Hot stamping is a growing technology thanks to the many advantages these sheets provide to the vehicle: better performance in case of a collision, less fuel consumption due to its lower weight.

However, stamping companies are also faced with many technical challenges, such as how to move parts from the furnace at 1,000ºc to the press die.

Inside a hot stamping furnace, metal sheets can reach temperatures of 1,000°C

The solution to handle metal sheets at 1,000°C is to
use a Lightweight Robot Grip equipped with high-temperature clamps.

High-temperature Clamps

Although standard clamps can withstand a brief handling of high-temperature parts, if exposure to heat is prolonged and repeated, they should be protected to maintain their function and components intact for as long as possible.

High-temperature clamps are protected with Viton O-rings and a Teflon surface coating.

Rear Connections

away from the heat source.

Viton O-rings

Viton is a material that endures high temperatures very well.

Gripper Fingers

specially designed to avoid transmission of heat into the internal mechanism of the pincer.

Thermal Protective Coating

made of fluoropolymer (Teflon).

Bearings

are prepared and reinforced to better withstand heat.

All clamps in the “Lightweight Robot Grips” catalogue and all pincers in the "Lightweight Transfers" catalogue are available for high temperature and hot stamping applications.

To order High-temperature Clamps, add the code (EE-Ø4/Ø9) to the reference of the clamp or pincer.
